Gemstar has for the past 18 years been my “go to company” for major rehabs, fires and even minor repair work. I have been in the business for over 28 years and have yet to find a company that even compares. The quality of work that I have received from them both on local properties and out of state rehabs has been unmatched. I do not give out references easily, but when it comes to Gemstar I am always very comfortable referring them to my clients, and other colleagues in the business. Working with Dan James is always a pleasure and everyone that I have referred them to to-date has thanked me for the referral. In this day and time it is very difficult to find a contractor that is honest, performs quality work that is on time and for a fair price. Often we find that contractors are strong when we first start using them, then it all falls apart, not the case with Gemstar. The true testament of a company can also be evidenced in their response to an emergency. In the past we have had the misfortune of some major fire emergencies and one phone call at 2 a.m. in the morning and Dan/ Gemstar has a response team on their way for emergency fence and board up, then professional follow up with the repair estimate to help us expedite the claim. National Community Renaissance (National CORE) Director of Construction,
Since 2007, Gemstar Construction & Development Co, Inc. (Gemstar) has provided general construction services on the multi-family affordable housing developments owned by National Community Renaissance (National CORE) in Texas. Each project had its own challenges, but the end result was successful due to working with Gemstar as the General Contractor and their team of subcontractors.
Gemstar has provided services and turned over units expeditiously to meet tax credit delivery dates and other required completion dates. They are very communicative and informed of changes ahead of time, that were unforeseen, completely missing from the plans and specifications, or items added onto their contract specifically by the Owner. Their work included total renovation ofr 1-, 2- and 3-bedrooms units, leasing offices, site work including but not limited to sidewalks, driveways, drainage improvements, landscaping and the construction of a 5,600 square foot Community Building at the San Antonio property.
